Exhibit of Wood Working by Four Local Craftsmen

Last Update: 15 March 2007

Gary Johnson (a library table and an end table) and Lee Mitchell (reproduction eighteenth-century table and cabinet) are exhibiting furniture pieces. Les LaPrade is exhibiting carved decorative birds and Tim Duff is exhibiting carved bird decoys. There was a reception for the craftsmen on 4 March, during which Tim Duff demonstrated his carving techniques.

The decorative birds show fine details. The decoys do not need to be as detailed but must be highly life-like in shape and coloration and must float on the water much as a live bird would.

All photos are by John Sweet. I hope I have correctly identified each bird species and the craftsman who made it. I will immediately correct any errors that are brought to my attention. I will also add more detailed information if it is provided.
