Rhythm Road will be back for another concert on 11 October 2008. It will be at 7:30 p.m. at The Highland Center with a $10 admission charge.
The Highland County Arts Council has sponsored several concerts by Rhythm Road, a quartet from Staunton, Virginia. Veteran musicians of several Shenandoah Valley bands, the members of Rhythm Road describe their sound as “a musical journey through Celtic lands, to the American heartland, with an Afro-Latin pulse.” With Jim Harrington on the accordion, Joe Dockery on percussion, Kevin Walsh on bass and Buddy Thomas on acoustic guitar, the group lends its unique style to everything from Irish jigs and reels to Bob Wills’ Texas swing to Paul Simon’s world beat sound.
