Last Update: 4 February 2005
The current exhibit at the Highland County Library is artwork with a Southwestern theme collected by Joan and Alan Pennell of Monterey. The Pennells lived in Chama, New Mexico, from 1977 until they moved here in 1995. Their collection started with the purchase of a small landscape at an art fair, and grew to fill their house. Among the artists represented are Native Americans as well as the Pennell family and friends. The exhibit captures the warm feel of the southwest and is an antidote to cold snowy days. It will be up through February. Dont miss it!
